When will this blog be real.
I have gone through so many iterations of the site. I think I might finally decide to create a gallery of all the versions of the site that have existed over the years. Well, to be fair, they never came into existence, but more along the lines that they … were thought up.
The Coming of Quantémoc
A few months ago I decided to help further my ambitions in film by setting a standard for my filmmaking. Every serious task I do must be one step better than the one before it. This is currently a personal exercise so I can help improve my skills one step at a time. The videos will not have to be the best films out there, but just better than the last one I did… for now at least.
Previously I had done a few shorts with my colleague The Good Sir. These shorts were an experiment in rapid film production. Each one was created in a day. They can be viewed on the Good Sloth’s Youtube page located here.
More recently, I was able to get my hands on a Nikon D90 through work. This is when my friend Joe and I conjured up the idea of Quantémoc. Its a test for both my own talents as well as a trial testing the D90 for video production.
Here are two raw scenes from the short:
Quantémoc confronts Brad McKinley
Quantémoc meets a homeless man:
This is it for now. Keep on checking for the final trailer for the short. I should have it up soon!
The time when Mansur made a blog.
First of all let me refer you to the following video:
Now that the greetings are out of the way let me begin my first post.
This site has been a long time coming. I’ve gone through countless redesigns and made a nearly neverending collection of web page templates. Finally, I gave in and decided to pick a theme and install wordpress on this server and just start writing.
I’ve decided to split Running Sloth [dot] com and Mansur Syed [dot] com into two separate sites. This one will hold any thoughts or ideas I might wish to share with strangers. The prior will host all media and presentational works relating to Running Sloth Productions. Running Sloth won’t be released officially for a little while longer.
Till then, please bookmark this page or leave a ‘internet wit’ comment below.
I will write more as time permits, but for now, this is the home of Mansur Syed, also known as The Running Sloth.
